Not all keyboards have the opportunity
Keyboards feel different, and touch typists should spend several hours with any keyboard, especially on a laptop before buying it. Key establishment is extremely important. The most popular laptop keyboards can have awkward cursor, page up / down, home and end key establishment. It is not unusual designs ridiculous as the delete key and a cursor key. For slow typists, all this means little. For fast typists, it’s is critical.
In addition, most keyboards today use a membrane technology under the keys without the flexibility and feel of earlier keyboards that used individual key switches. Keyboards received from third parties still do, however, the use of light, and a fast touch typist, the difference is dramatic. See mechanical keyboard, keyboard and Avant Maltron stellar keyboard.
